This weekend four of the LGH interns ventured up (9600 ft!) to Breckenridge for an awesome project with World Bicycle Relief. We drove up Sunday and had dinner with the WBR crew and discussed our plans for the next morning where we would set up a tent at the Firecracker 50 (a 54 mile mountain bike race held in Breckenridge each summer). World Bicycle Relief is partnering with Light Gives Heat to help us provide bicycles to our SUUBI and EPOH artisans. We were able to raise enough money to provide one of our employees with a bike which we are really excited about because bicycles are an extremely valuable means of transportation in Uganda! We even had a little time to explore downtown Breckenridge and marvel at some of the still snow-topped mountains. It was a great trip and we are very much looking forward to working with World Bicycle Relief more in the weeks and months to come!

In continuing with our partnership with World Bicycle Relief, this Friday we're hosting an event that will continue to raise awareness to our cause to provide subsidized bikes to those we work with in Uganda. Jump on your bike and join us at 7pm here in the LGH alley for a bike-in! Roast marshmallows, listen to the musical stylings of Tim Brown and be apart of something new that's on the heart of LGH.
