Shropshire Music Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides musical instruments and instruction to children in the countries of Uganda, Kosovo and Northern Ireland. The teaching and playing of music is used to help bring healing and hope to past child soldiers and war affected children. They learn how to deal with post-traumatic emotions acquired from the past, to create social change, to create a positive community, and how to be expressive people. SMF teaches a variety of instruments and even travels around playing music and singing in choirs. SMF provides opportunities to help support what they do by the ability to donate instruments, support a child, fundraise and more. In each country there are youth and adult volunteers that help organize the programs and teach the kids. As passionate music lovers they are using music notes to be a therapeutic healing for these youth, and they are seeing the difference it is making! There are stories about what moved the founder to begin this organization on the website, along with more background history on the war in each of the 3 countries that SMF is involved with.

What an encouragement to see people throughout the world that are passionate about change and that are actively doing something about it!
