All of these avenues within Light Gives Heat gives you the opportunity to not only add to your style AND spread hope, but it also allows you to have a part in the continuation of providing consistent incomes.

There is yet another way you can be a part of this movement. Since the beginning, many people just like you have been generously donating to Light Gives Heat. What happens to these donations? May the growth of LGH speak for that. Over this past year alone, donations of ALL sizes ($20 - $20,000) have helped us more than double the income we can provide for the Suubi women. Why do donations matter in this process? Well, we need money before we can make money in order to turn that money back around and purchase more necklace from the women. Get the cycle in this??

Donations have given us that upfront money so that we can buy necklaces from the women weekly, then ship, market, package and sell them in stores across the US and on our online store. Last August, LGH was paying each Suubi woman 15,000 Shillings per week for the products they made. Put that into context of their culture; if a Ugandan worker is fortunate enough to find a job with a consistent income, their weekly income will be somewhere around 20,000 shillings a week. Now, over the past year, the consumer demand for Suubi and Epoh products has increased, causing the need for LGH to increase the number of products made by the Suubi women. Because of donations, we had that extra help to increase our buying. Currently, LGH pays each Suubi woman 40,000 shillings per week. That is 25,000 more than this time last year. The more the growth, the more women we could bring on board with Suubi. Imagine the possibilities. Imagine the number of kids that could go to school, the number of women who would be able to provide for their kids, the number of people who could eat healthier and more nutritious food. Imagine the amount of hope that could be spread.
