Summer Tour: Week 1

June 14, 2010
Interns on a couch near the street. We're so trendy.

With a couple of days in Colorado under our belts, and a few days on the road we (The Tour Team) have realized a few things…
-One, that Light Gives Heat and all the people that work here are just as legit as they seem on their website.
-Two, that there is a ton more work involved in making this organization work than any of us could have imagined.
-And three, that all of this work is done with a genuine love for all of the people in Uganda that are working alongside and for this organization. Along with that, they work so hard to reach the people here in the West that have never seen or heard of this crazy hope and want to be a part of something bigger than themselves.

That is where we come in.

We have been absorbing as much information about this whole organization
as we can in order to be Light Gives Heat at the music festivals that we attend. We are
going on this crazy adventure through America to several different music festivals.
We will travel thousands of miles and meet thousands of people along the way. There
are going to be thousands of opportunities for people to get involved as the come into
contact with us, and with others that know about us.

Our goal? To simply invite people to take a chance on hope. To be an advocate for it.
To become a part of something that is perhaps bigger than anything they have
ever been a part of before! It is exciting to think that each encounter we have with
someone is a chance to change a life!

There are even a few young people here in Grand Junction that want to be a part of
this. Just the other day we went to a car wash at a local Bible School program, and
they were donating all of the proceeds to Light Gives Heat! How cool is that?! We even got our Light Gives Heat van washed by a mob of 6-10 year olds (pictured). Sweet.

We hope that you all follow along with us as we take this adventure! Look for more posts coming soon!

Always,
-The Tour Team (Martin, Amanda, Seana, and Brady)
