Simplicity in the Midst of the Crazy.

This week our usual Monday morning staff meeting turned from what we had planned for the days ahead into a plea from me to the other LGH staff and Interns. As I laid out the week in my head, I realized that somehow I've lost my imagination when it comes to some of the most important things we do as an organization. My realization was surprisingly simple: We have made it too complicated.

We are meeting needs of those who have needs. That’s it. Nothing more, nothing less.

All of these systems we've created: Websites, Movies, Marketing team, PR team, Design team, Accounting; all of them exist to meet the real needs of the people around us and our friends in Africa.

Two trips per year to Uganda, that’s what my soul needs. I need to be reminded why we do what we do, and those trips help me remember that it is about us creatively meeting needs around the world. That’s it.

What does your soul need?

As you read this, my call to you is to examine your life. Try and see what things you've made more complicated than they need to be, and when you’re ready, try and change them.

It’s that simple.
