Music Monday

December 6, 2010

Today's music Monday features Springfield, Missouri native Jeremy Larson and his latest side project Fort Christmas. October 19th, Larson officially released his EP entitled "Feathers". Larson has been writing, producing, and recording his own music for years. He has also worked and collaborated with various artist, including the talented MUTEMATH.

Long time fans of Larson will notice this project to sound a bit different from his normal releases. On his blog, Larson writes, "I wanted to do something fun and completely different than the album I've spent the last two years making.  I was feeling like I needed to hit some kind of "reset" button in my brain before making any new music under my own name.I knew that there was going to be a long wait before my full length album came out, and I wanted to give you all something to listen to during the fall season. I guess it's kind of like a little appetizer for you while you are waiting for the main course."

His latest musical project is more like a story then just an EP. The five track EP highlights Larson and his relationship with his longtime girlfriend. It takes the listener on a journey from their first date to the end with their engagement. It is a beautiful love story that everyone can admire and appreciate. The EP still boasts Larson's usual dreamy lyrics, but with a more upbeat undertone.

You can now purchase "Feathers" from bandcamp.com. So head on over, take a listen, and enjoy the toe tapping musical stylings of Fort Christmas. Happy Listening!
