Since it’s inception, Light Gives Heat has been in the business of telling stories; stories of change, hope and new beginnings. Stories about dealing with the past and looking forward with hope- stories of “Moving On.”

A documentary has been a dream of ours since the beginning and it is finally becoming a reality. Production for “Moving On” began in March and though filming has wrapped, there is still a lot to do before this film can hit theatres.

That’s where you come in. Tomorrow, November 12th, we’re launching a campaign unlike anything we have ever tried before. We’re using a site called Kickstarter to “crowd-fund” this film. This basically means that you, your old babysitter and your Great- uncle Zeb can be film producers.

Here’s how it works: We set a goal and a timeframe to raise funds. We’re giving this project 45 days to raise $50,000. Supporters come to our site anytime after the launch date, tomorrow November 12th and donate to “fund and follow creativity.”

If we reach our goal before the deadline we can continue raising funds, above and beyond the initial goal until time runs out. However, if we undershoot it, we get nothing. That’s right. If we get $49,999 in pledges but don’t make that extra dollar before time runs out- all pledges are cancelled. You don’t pay and we have to find another way to fund this film.

It’s risky but it’s worth it. These stories are worth telling, worth investing in and we want you to be a part of it. So, when the launch day hits, please- help us spread the word. Make a donation.
