At the end of May, we decided to re-organize the Suubi women groups. Previously, the women were organized into three groups (A,B,C) based on their numbers. This resulted in people having to walk long distances to attend their weekly team meetings at their teachers' homes. We decided to re-group the ladies according to neighborhoods - Group A is Danida, Soweto and Masese near the Suubi Building. Group B is Walukuba West and Group C is Walukuba East and 'outliers' who live far away. These new groups will each elect three teachers. The teachers will then choose 10 members from their group to create a team and have a weekly meeting to teach new designs and distribute paper. We hope this will improve attendance to weekly meetings and the quality of necklaces.
