Agnes Lagulu
"I am known as 'Mom' to so many, and I love hearing it every time." ~Lagulu Agnes
Age: 30
Children: 4
Profile:

Agnes Lagulu has been, and continues to be known as a loving caretaker within her Ugandan community. When Agnes was very young, her life took a discouraging turn. She lived in Uganda during a time of intense war and witnessed children being abducted, along with children being diagnosed with aids. She eventually moved to a town called, Gulu and began taking care of her older sister who had also been diagnosed with aids. Agnes married a man in Jinja, Africa after experiencing the burning of her house and village. She then decided to move permanently to Jinja where it seemed trouble would continue to follow her. During her time in Jinja, Agnes lost her husband and became known as “Mom” to her sister’s children as well as children of her own. Shortly after moving, Agnes joined Suubi. She continues to take care of, and support her family with the income she is able to make. She believes that through hard work and the help of the Suubi organization, she will continue to overcome financial challenges and take care of her family.
