The Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. is a non-partisan, non-political organization. They state on their website, "We do not support any political candidate, nor do we endorse any religious organization. The military represents all aspects of America as does our organization. We are mothers who now have, or have had, children honorably serving in the military. We are a non-profit (501[c]3) Veterans service organization supporting our military children while promoting patriotism."

The Blue Star Mothers of America recently held their National Conference in LGH's hometown of Grand Junction. Joanna, mother of co-founder Morgan Hansow, is a Blue Star Mother as her son, Morgan's brother, is a US Marine. Joanna held a booth at the recent convention in which red, white and blue Suubi necklaces made their debut appearance. These new and unique necklaces were designed with the purpose for chapter fundraisers. How it works is an individual chapter can buy the necklaces at wholesale price and keep the profits as a way to raise funds. These necklaces come in 3 styles; Classic, 1/2 Classic & Confetti.
