Last week, Light Gives Heat said goodbye to a memorable living room set that resided at the LGH Staff & Volunteer house in Jinja. It all began back in 2007 when Co-founders, Dave and Morgan Hansow, moved to Uganda to finish the adoption process of their daughter, Jadyn. Having started fresh with a new home, Dave and Morgan went to a local craftsman, picked out their fabric and had him build them this sofa/two-chair combination. This set aided in the comfort of a number of volunteers and LGH Staff over the years, but after one too many bums having compressed the seat foam and a handful of kids not making it to the bathroom, it was time to say goodbye. In Jinja, it is rare to own a car, so the question might be posed, How would one get rid of a sofa and two chairs. There may not be truck drivers, but there are boda boda drivers and leave it to them to load up a sofa and two chairs on to one bike. As you can see, thats exactly what they did and off the set went.
